BUTTER FROSTING 
1/4 c. butter
3 c. sifted confectioners' sugar
2 tbsp. cold brewed strong coffee (or brandy, lemon or orange juice)

In a bowl, cream the butter until light, gradually work in the sifted confectioners' sugar with coffee or other flavoring liquid until frosting a smooth, spreadable consistency. Frosts 2 (9") layers.

NOTE: Milk may also be used as the liquid. In that case, combine with a little vanilla or almond extract.
