KEY LIME PIE | |
4 eggs, separated 1 can sweetened condensed milk 1/2 c. Key lime juice 1 baked 9" pie shell 1 tbsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. baking powder In medium bowl beat egg yolks. Add condensed milk and beat until well blended. Slowly add lime juice, mixing well. (Custard will thicken as you add lime juice.) Pour immediately into baked pie shell and top with meringue. Bake until lightly browned, 8-10 minutes at 325 degrees. MERINGUE: Beat egg whites until stiff. Add sugar and baking powder, beating constantly. Spread meringue over filling, covering completely and sealing at the edges of crust. |
