1 c. softened butter
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. milk
5 tbsp. flour

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla in mixer bowl until smooth and well blended. Combine milk and flour in saucepan; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and thickened to pudding consistency. Chill thoroughly. Blend milk mixture into butter mixture gradually on low speed; mix well. May use this as a filling or a frosting.
