MAMIE EISENHOWER'S MILLION DOLLAR FUDGE | |
4 1/2 cups sugar 2 tablespoons butter 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate bits 3 (12 oz.) pkgs. German sweet chocolate 1 (8 oz.) jar marshmallow cream 2 cups chopped nuts pinch salt 1 (13 oz.) can evaporated milk Boil together sugar, salt, butter, and milk for 6 minutes. Pour syrup into large bowl over chocolate bits, chocolate and marshmallow cream. Add nuts. Beat until chocolate is melted and pour into 13x9 buttered pan. Let stand several hours before cutting. I grew up with this recipe, because my Grandma had the recipe!!
I learned to make it as a teen, and it was gone by the next day, if that long!!
My Maman inherited Grandma's recipe box, but, unfortunately, when Maman passed away, the recipe box went with her!!
But!! I have found this website, and just happened to have thought of Mamie's fudge recipe, and I can't believe my luck!!
