I always put the kiss in before I put them in the oven. They do not melt and they taste yummy with less monitoring!

I have a commercial oven - I cooked them 6 minutes and they were done - I also put them back in for another minute as per another comment after the kisses were added - heavenly! My dough was a bit crumbly, I ended up softening it up with 2 tbsp. Milk. Great recipe!

These are amazing! They take 10 minutes in my oven to be done, so at 8 minutes I take them out and put the chocolate kiss on top. Turns out perfect! Also, if you do not have kisses, try the chocolate holiday bells that stores carry around Christmas, my husband liked them better because they are bigger and the insides get all melty and delicious

Also very cute is to mix holiday sprinkles in with the sugar you use to roll them in!

Has anyone tried to freeze the cookie dough for a later use? If so how did it go? Thanks!

You can freeze the dough ahead of time. Thaw a couple of days ahead in the refrigerator.

These are great cookies and the kids love them. I tried rolling them in colored sugar last year, very festive.

Yes, this recipe is perfect -- but after you (quickly) push a "kiss" on top of each cookie, you put them back into the oven for about 2 minutes and then take them out to cool.

This is the "finishing touch" for these cookies. It makes the kisses look better too -- they are picture perfect and so delicious!

A lot of recipes also don't tell you to roll the cookies in regular white sugar -- it makes me sad to see those! lol

Dear Picky Baker,
Do you leave the oven on at 375°F or turn it off before putting the cookies back in to set the Hershey Kiss on top? I'm making these for a cookie swap so would like them to be perfect! Thanks!

 Alexa replies:
You place the kiss on top right after you take the cookies out of the oven.

Printed and tried this recipe. It is great. I Followed directions in comments to add kiss and place in oven 2 min. and they turned our delicious. I think this would be a good peanut butter cookie without the kiss. I'll try that later.

I remember my grandmother making these cookies every christmas, but I think I remember her placing a Hershey Kiss on the top of the cookies during the last few minutes of baking. They didn't melt, but after the cookie cooled it left a thin layer of chocolate that make the kiss easier to bite into. The kiss never lost its shape. Does anyone or has anyone ever tried it this way? I so want to try it, but don't want to waste a batch being I can't remember just when she would place the kiss on top.

 Ann Curcerello (Pennsylvania) replies:
I have a recipe that calls for the Kiss to be put in and put back in oven for 2-5 minutes.
