APPLE BETTY 
4 c. sliced pared apples
1/4 c. orange juice
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. butter

Mound apples in 9 inch pie plate; sprinkle with orange juice. Combine sugar, flour, spices and a dash of salt. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly; sprinkle over apples. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes until apples are tender and topping is crisp. Serve warm with cream. Serves 6.
