BAKED SAUERKRAUT | |
6 slices bacon 3 or 4 tbsp. bacon fat 1 med. onion 1 lb. can sauerkraut 1/2 c. tomato juice 3 or 4 tbsp. butter 1 1/2 slices bread Salt, pepper & sugar to taste Fry bacon until crisp, cook onion until soft in bacon fat. Add kraut, partly drained, tomato juice, crumbled bacon and seasoning. Pour into baking dish. Melt butter in saucepan, add crumbled bread. Mix well. Spread over top of sauerkraut mixture. Bake at 425 degrees for 1 hour. |
