MEAT LOAF WITH STEWED TOMATOES | |
1 lb. hamburger or venison 1 lb. roll hot sausage 1 pkg. Lipton's onion soup mix 3/4 c. oatmeal (uncooked) 1 sm. can tomato sauce 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 2 eggs STEWED TOMATOES: 2 cans stewed tomatoes 1 sm. onion, chopped 1 green pepper, chopped 2 tbsp. flour Mix first 7 ingredients until blended. Bake at 350 degrees until browned. Carefully remove from pan without breaking. Drain drippings reserving 2 tablespoons. Place on burner. Add chopped onion and pepper; cook until limp but not browned. Stir in 2 tablespoons flour, then the cans of stewed tomatoes. Cook several minutes until thickened. If not thick enough, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with some cold water and stir into tomatoes. Slice meat loaf and serve with stewed tomatoes over it. |
