GRANNY MELVIN'S GREAT CARAMEL CAKE | |
CAKE: 1 box Duncan Hines golden yellow cake mix 1 stick butter 3 eggs 2/3 milk Mix and bake. CARAMEL FROSTING: 1 stick butter 1 1/2 - 2 cups sugar 1 c. chopped pecans 1 small can evaporated milk 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring Combine butter and sugar in saucepan. Don't stir too much. Add pecans and let them cook in sugar and butter. Set off heat. Add evaporated milk. Bring to boil and let boil for about 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and almond flavorings. (If icing sugars, add a little milk and bring to a boil again). |
