HUNGARIAN CHICKEN PAPRIKAS 
4 tbsp. shortening
1 tsp. paprika
Salt
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 chicken, cut into parts
1/2 pt. sour cream (or less)
1/2 c. heavy cream (optional)
2 tbsp. flour
1 c. water

Brown onion in shortening, add seasonings and chicken. Brown chicken, uncovered, about 10 minutes. Add hot water and simmer covered, until chicken is tender (about 45-60 minutes).

Just before serving, mix flour in sour cream and add to gravy, along with heavy cream. Simmer gravy a few minutes. Return meat to gravy and serve with noodles
