1 c. raisins
2 c. boiling water
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. shortening
1 c. sugar
Pinch salt
Dash of cloves, nutmeg and allspice
2 c. flour
1 egg, beaten
1 c. nuts

Boil raisins and water down to 1 cup liquid; cool. Add soda, shortening, sugar and salt. Add cloves, nutmeg and allspice. Add flour, egg and nuts. Bake on greased cookie sheet. Cool and frost with powdered sugar frosting.
