SOUR DOUGH HONEY GOLD BREAD | |
1 qt. culture, set overnight 2 c. milk (scald, cool, add 1 pkg. yeast) 2 tbsp. butter, add to culture 1/4 c. honey 2 c. wheat flour 1/4 c. wheat germ 2 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking soda 4 c. flour For oatmeal bread omit wheat germ and add 2 cups oats. Add wheat flour, wheat germ, sugar, salt and baking soda and let rest 30 minutes. Stir down. Add flour and then knead. Let dough rise twice and then shape into loaves and rise. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes and at 300 degrees for - until bread shrinks from sides of pans. |
