After approximately 20-25 washings the flame resistant compound is washed out of clothes, but it can be put back in with the following formula:

9 oz. Borax
4 oz. boric acid solution
1 gallon warm water

Soak for 10-15 minutes. Wring out and throw in dryer. Good for hand-me-down clothes for children.
