SHOOFLY CAKE 
4 c. flour
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. light brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
2 c. boiling water
1 c. table molasses
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda

Mix the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar and butter into a crumb mixture using a pastry blender or your fingers. Reserve 1 cup of the crumbs for cake topping.

Mix the molasses, boiling water and baking soda together. Gradually the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients. Pour the combined ingredients into a greased 9x13 inch pan. Sprinkle the reserved 1 cup of crumbs over the top. Bake for 55 minutes at 350 degrees.
