NUTMEG LOGS 
1 c. butter
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. rum flavoring
3/4 c. sugar
1 unbeaten egg
3 c. flour

Cream together the first four ingredients. Blend in 1 unbeaten egg. Sift in 3 cups flour. Shape pieces of dough on floured surface into long rolls, 1/2 inch in diameter. Cut in 3 inch lengths, place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees until lightly browned. Cool. Frost. Mark frosting with tines of fork to resemble bark. Sprinkle with nutmeg.

FROSTING:

3 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. rum flavoring

2 1/2 c. powdered sugar alternately with 2 or 3 tbsp. cream

Beat to spreading consistency.
