2 (8 oz.) boxes dates, chopped well
2 tsp. baking soda
9 (whole grain) saccharin tablets
2 c. boiling water

Mix well and set aside for 45 minutes, stirring now and then.

CREAM:

3/4 c. corn oil
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tbsp. baking powder
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. clove
1 tsp. nutmeg
