BAKED SHREDDED POTATOES 
5-6 med. to lg. potatoes
1 stick butter, melted
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 c. milk, approximately

Boil potatoes with skins on until just tender. Cool. Melt butter in 3 quart casserole dish to be used for baking potatoes. Leave just enough melted butter in dish to cover bottom. Pour remaining off and set aside. Shred a layer of potatoes in dish. Pour some butter evenly over layer, salt and pepper. Repeat until dish is full. Add enough milk to be seen easily as dish is tilted. Bake until top is golden brown at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes.
