DUTCH COOKIES 
1 pkg. sliced almonds
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 sticks sweet butter
1 c. sugar, sifted
2 c. flour, sifted
1 egg yolk
1 egg white

When butter is soft, add flour and sugar and mix thoroughly by hand. Add egg yolk and vanilla and mix together into a soft ball. Spread mixture on a baking tin with the palm of hand until it is 1/8 of inch deep, spreading it over the tin.

Dust top with egg white; add sliced almonds to cover it. Bake at 275 degrees until light brown. Cut into slices and lift off with spatula.
