FRENCH APPLE COBBLER 
FILLING:

2/3 cup sugar
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
6 cups apples, sliced or 2 cans pie filling
1 1/2 tsp. grated lemon peel

TOPPING:

2/3 cup Bisquick
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup melted butter

Preheat oven to 425°F.

Mix sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir in apples and lemon peel. Put in 9"x13" baking dish. Combine Bisquick and brown sugar. Sprinkle over apple base. Drizzle with melted butter.

Bake for 15 minutes at 425°F, reduce heat to 325°F and finish baking for another 20-30 minutes, or until top is golden brown and center is bubbly.

Serve warm or chilled, topped with vanilla ice cream.
