BREAKFAST BRANCAKES 
1 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. orange rind
2 tsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. orange juice
1/4 c. butter
1 orange, peeled and sectioned
1 egg, beaten
2 c. milk
1 c. all bran
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder

Combine 1 cup sugar, salt, 1 teaspoon orange rind, cornstarch in saucepan. Stir in orange juice gradually. Add butter. Cook until thick and clear, stirring constantly. Add orange sections; set aside. Combine egg, milk, 1 teaspoon orange rind and all bran in bowl. Let stand for several minute. Stir in mixture of flour, baking powder, 3/4 teaspoon salt and 2 tablespoon sugar. Bake on lightly oiled griddle until browned on both sides. Serve with butter and orange sauce. Yield 12 servings.
