JOAN HARVEY'S TOFFEE COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
2 c. flour
1 egg yolk
Pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate drops
1 c. chopped nuts

Cream butter and sugar well. Add flour, egg yolk, salt and vanilla with floured hands. Pat stiff dough out to 1/2 inch thick rectangle on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. While still hot spread with melted chocolate and sprinkle with chopped nuts. Cut into squares. Very rich but oh so good.
