SUPER STEW | |
1 lb. boneless cubed beef 1 tbsp. shortening 1 3/4 c. water 1 sm. onion, sliced 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 1/8 tsp. pepper 3 med. potatoes, cubed 2 med. carrots, sliced 1 med. onion, cut up 1/2 c. ketchup 1/4 c. cooking wine 1 can peas, drained In large saucepan or Dutch oven, brown meat well in shortening. Add water and next 4 ingredients. Cover and simmer 45 minutes or until meat is tender, stirring occasionally. Add potatoes, carrots and onions. Cover and simmer 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Stir in ketchup, wine and peas. Cover and simmer 20 minutes longer. |
