KOLACHI
1 c. butter, softened
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
4 egg yolks, beaten
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream butter and cheese until light and fluffy. Add beaten egg yolks and continue to cream. Gradually add sifted flour and salt, mixing well after each addition of flour. Mix until a dough is formed which does not cling to the side of the bowl.

Separate dough into 3 parts and flatten out. Wrap each part separately and store in the freezer until ready to use. Roll out dough 1/8 inch thick. (Use powdered sugar instead of flour to roll out on.) Cut into 2 or 3 inch squares, depending on how large you want them.

Put a small amount of filling in the center of the square; fold over opposite corners and seal. Bake at 350 degrees about 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

FILLING:

Any canned filling, jam, etc. or: 1 1/2 pounds crushed walnuts; 4 egg whites beaten with 3/4 cup sugar until stiff peaks are formed. Fold in the nuts and store in refrigerator until ready to use.
