15 LAYER JELLO MOLD | |
4 sm. pkgs. Jello (red, yellow, green and purple) 1 1/4 c. sugar 1 pt. sweet cream 1 pt. sour cream 2 env. unflavored gelatin, softened in 1/2 c. cold water Bring sugar and sweet cream to a boil, stirring constantly; add unflavored gelatin mixture. Cool. Add sour cream. Dissolve red Jello into a bowl with 1 1/2 cups boiling water. Repeat with other colors, putting each in a separate bowl. Using a 10-12 cup mold (ours is round and deep with a tube center) put a thin layer of red Jello in the mold, and put in refrigerator. When set (or almost), spoon a thin layer of cream mixture over it. Let set. Repeat, alternating colors, and allowing each layer to set, until all are used up. If cream curdles, use it anyway - it will still taste and look good. If it gets too thick - soften over a pan of hot water. Keep the bowls of cream and Jello on the counter, and the mold in the refrigerator. |
