1 tsp. grated lemon peel 1 tsp. grated orange peel 2 tbsp. brandy 1 jar maraschino cherries (8 oz.) 1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream 4 oz. chocolate chips (3/4 c.) 3/4 c. toasted slivered almonds Combine peels and brandy in a bowl. Drain cherries, but save 8 to 10 whole ones. Coarsely chop remaining cherries. Let ice cream soften slightly. Then stir in brandy mixture and fold in remaining ingredients. Spoon into chilled glasses. Return to freezer. Remove from the freezer 5 minutes before serving. Serves 8-10. |
