SHORTBREAD 
1/2 lb. butter
1/2 c. confectioners' sugar or brown sugar
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugar together. Mix together flour and baking powder and add to butter/sugar mixture, combining thoroughly.

Pat onto ungreased jelly roll pan or cookie sheet; the dough should be about 1/4 inch thick. Bake for 20-25 minutes until lightly browned.
