8 slices cubed white bread 1/2 c. mayonnaise (Miracle Whip) 3 c. chicken breast, cut into bite size pieces 1 onion, diced 1 green pepper, diced 3 to 4 stalks celery, diced 4 beaten eggs 3 c. milk 1 1/2 c. Cheddar cheese 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1/3 c. water Sauté the onion, pepper and celery in 1 stick butter. Mix cubed bread, mayonnaise, eggs, chicken and milk, then add the sautéed mixture. Put in bowl and refrigerate overnight. Put in a casserole pan that would leave about 2-inches of space from the top. Put in oven at 350°F for 15 minutes. While in oven for 15 minutes, take the cream of mushroom soup, cheese and water and put in pan. Mix and melt the cheese. Then take casserole out of oven and put the soup mixture on top. Put back in oven and bake for another 1 hour and 15 minutes. Let stand for 15 minutes and then cut and serve. |
