HOT MULLED CIDER 
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 qts. apple cider
1 tsp. whole allspice
1 tsp. whole cloves
3 inch stick of cinnamon
Dash of nutmeg
A cinnamon stick for each mug
An orange slice for each mug (optional)

Combine the first 7 ingredients and bring to a boil. Simmer for 20 minutes. Remove the spices. Serve in mugs with cinnamon sticks and with orange slice floaters if desired.
