OREGON APPLE PIE 
4 lg. apples or 6 sm. apples, peeled, sliced
2 tbsp. granulated sugar
2 tsp. ground cinnamon

TOPPING:

6 oz. butter, melted
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
Powdered sugar, chopped pecans, mint leaves for garnish (optional)

TIPS: You may omit peeling the apples if the skin is thin and soft. You may use walnuts or hazelnuts in the topping for a different flavor.

Arrange apple slices in an even layer in a lightly greased pie plate. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.

For topping, combine cooled melted butter, brown sugar, chopped nuts and flour in a bowl. Add eggs to mixture, mixing to blend well. Spread topping evenly over apples. Bake pie at 350 degrees for about 35 minutes or until apples are soft and topping is lightly brown.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar and chopped pecans, if desire.d Garnish with fresh mint leaves, if available. Good served with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, half & half or sour cream or plain yogurt. One pie, 6 servings.
