ORANGE PECAN BREAD 
2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
3/4 c. orange juice
2 tbsp. grated orange rind
1/2 c. finely cut dates
1/2 c. coarsely chopped pecans

Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt together. Combine remaining ingredients. Stir in flour mixture gradually; blend well. Pour into a greased 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch loaf pan. Bake in a moderate 350 degree oven for 50 minutes or until brown. Remove from pan and cool. Makes 1 loaf. This freezes beautifully.
