SHOOFLY PIE 
1 egg yolk
3/4 c. boiling water
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 c. light brown sugar
9 inch unbaked pie shell
1/2 c. light molasses
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 tbsp. butter

In small bowl, beat egg yolk. Add molasses then water with soda dissolved in it. Set aside. Combine dry ingredients with butter and work into crumbs. Put liquid into pie shell, then add crumbs. (Do not stir). Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes, then at 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
