FRENCH FRIED MUSHROOMS 
1 lb. mushrooms
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt
1 egg
Milk

In a bowl sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Blend in egg lightly beaten and enough milk to make a batter the consistency of heavy cream. Dip mushrooms into the batter and fry them a few at a time in hot deep fat (375 degrees) until they are nicely browned. Drain the mushrooms on paper towels and sprinkle them with salt.
