GRANDMA'S RED DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE 
1/2 c. cocoa
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
Pinch of salt
1/2 c. milk
1 c. boiling water

Cream together cocoa, sugar, and shortening. Mix in eggs. Combine dry ingredients. Add milk alternating with flour mixture to sugar mixture. Add boiling water and mix again. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
