LIME PICKLES 
7 lb. pickles, cut crosswise

Cover with 2 cups lime and 2 gallons cold water; soak 24 hours. Rinse 4 times in cold water. Cover with cold water and soak 3 hours; drain and cover with syrup made of 4 1/2 pounds white sugar. 1 tsp. mixed spices 1 tsp. whole cloves 1 tsp. salt

Let pickles soak in syrup overnight in morning boil 35 minutes and can.
