LIME PICKLES 
8 lbs. cucumbers
1 gallon water
1 c. lime

Cut cucumbers crossways and soak in lime solution 24 hours. Rinse thoroughly 3 or 4 times.

Mix 1/2 gallon vinegar and 9 cups sugar and 1/2 box pickling spice, tied in a cloth.

Bring to a boil, place cucumbers in mixture, let set 3 hours. Bring to boil again only until pickles are clear. Pack in sterile jars and seal. Large cukes make a clearer and better pickle.
