LIME CRISP PICKLES 
7 lb. cucumbers
1 c. lime
1 gallon water
2 qt. vinegar
5 lb. sugar
1 tsp. mixed pickle spices
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. whole cloves

Slice cucumbers and place in crockery or granite cookware. Cover with lime and water. Soak in lime water 24 hours. Rinse well, then cover with cold water and soak 3 hours. Drain and cover with the solution of spices, seeds, vinegar and sugar. Soak overnight. Pour off liquid into pot and bring to a boil. Put in cucumber slices and boil 25 minutes. Pack and seal in sterilized jars.
