LIME PICKLES 
Slice 7 pounds of cucumbers. Cover with 2 gallons cold water in which you have mixed 2 cups pickling lime. (Mrs. Wages). Let set for 24 hours. Drain and rinse good with cold water. Cover with cold water. Let set for 3 hours. Drain good.

Add: 2 qts. vinegar 4 1/2 lbs. sugar 1 tsp. celery seed 1 tsp. whole cloves 1 tsp. mixed pickling spice, (I mix vinegar & all spices, sugar, together real good and then add cucumbers.)

Let this set for 3 hours then boil until transparent. Just before they look done, add 1 cup raisins. Pack in sterilized hot jars and seal.
