3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. soft shortening
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

TOPPING:

1/2 c. brown or white sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Mix thoroughly first three ingredients. Stir in milk. Sift together and stir in last three ingredients. Spread batter in greased and floured medium sized square pan. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake in 375 oven for 25 to 35 minutes. Amount: 9-3 inch squares.
