ENGLISH GINGERSNAPS 
3/4 c. butter
1 egg
2 c. flour
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. molasses
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and molasses. Sift dry ingredients and add. Roll in 1/2-inch balls and dip in sugar.

Bake on ungreased sheet at 350°F for 15 minutes.
