GINGERSNAP COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
1 egg
1/4 c. dark molasses
1 tbsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. clove powder
1 tsp. ginger
2 c. flour
Sugar for rolling

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and molasses. Add dry ingredients. Form mixture into 1" balls. Roll in sugar and place an inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12 minutes.
