K.'S COOKIE JAR GINGERSNAPS 
2 c. sifted flour
1 tbsp. ground ginger
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses

Measure flour, ginger, soda, cinnamon, and salt in sifter. Cream shortening until soft in medium size bowl. Gradually add sugar, creaming after each addition. Beat in egg and molasses. Gradually mix in sifted dry ingredients over creamed mixture and blend well. Form teaspoonful of dough into small balls by rolling between palms. Roll dough balls in granulated sugar, coating entire surface. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes. Cool and store in tightly covered container.
