GINGERSNAP COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. light molasses
3/4 c. shortening
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. salt

Beat well sugar and egg; add molasses and shortening; blending well. Sift together all dry ingredients and slowly add to mixture, when well mixed; form into walnut size balls and roll in sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and press lightly with fork. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
