CABBAGE LASAGNA | |
2 lbs. lean ground beef 1 med. onion, chopped 1 green pepper, chopped 1 med. cabbage, shredded 1/2 tsp. oregano 1 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 18 oz. tomato paste 8 oz. Mozzarella cheese Saute ground beef, onion and pepper until meat is brown. Boil cabbage until tender. Save 2 cups of the liquid and drain off whatever liquid remains. Combine cabbage liquid, oregano, salt, pepper and tomato paste and simmer over lowheat for 5 minutes. Add meat, onion and green pepper to tomato mixture. Alternate layers of cabbage and tomato mixture in a 9 x 13 inch pan. Top with slices of cheese to cover. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 to 45 minutes until cheese is browned. Serves 8. |
