ITALIAN CABBAGE 
1 med. cabbage, shredded
2 lb. ground beef, lean
1 med. onion, chopped
1 med. green pepper, chopped
1 (6 oz.) tomato paste
1 (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1 c. mozzarella cheese, shredded

Steam cabbage 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside. Combine ground beef, onion and green pepper in a skillet; cook over medium heat until beef is browned and vegetables are tender, stirring to crumble meat. Drain well. Add tomato paste, tomato sauce, oregano, salt, pepper and garlic powder to beef mixture and mix well.

Spoon 1/2 of cabbage into lightly greased 13 x 9 inch dish. Cover with 1/2 meat mixture. Repeat layers. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake uncovered for 15 more minutes.
