GRANDMA'S GINGERBREAD | |
1/2 c. shortening (Crisco) 1 c. molasses (dark is best) 1 c. white sugar 1 c. hot water 1 egg 2 1/2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. ginger 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. baking soda Cream shortening with sugar. Beat in egg and add molasses. Add the flour, ginger, soda and cinnamon. Mix well. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or longer until cake pulls away from sides of pan. |
