TOFFEE BARS 
1 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
3 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
4 milk chocolate Hershey candy bars, broken in chunks
1 1/2 - 2 c. finely ground pecans

Have everything ready prior to beginning, i.e. 13"x9" cookie sheet, buttered and candy thermometer.

Place first four ingredients into a saucepan and cook until the thermometer fully reaches 300 degrees. Spread quickly on cookie sheet. Place Hershey chunks over the top, spread with a fork. Then quickly sprinkle finely ground pecans on top of this. Let set in cool place 6 to 7 hours. Crack or break into small pieces.
