RED VELVET CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vinegar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
2 c. flour
1 oz. red food coloring
1 tbsp. cocoa

Mix together sugar, eggs and butter. Mix together vinegar and baking soda; add to sugar mixture. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Pour into pan(s). Bake at 350 degrees until tests done with toothpick.

ICING FOR RED VELVET CAKE: Scald 2/3 cup milk. Cool 10 minutes. Beat egg white until fluffy. Add 1/2 cup butter, 1 cup sugar, and 2 teaspoons vanilla. Add milk and beat at least 10 minutes.
