"RED VELVET CAKE" 
3 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. shortening
7 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 c. milk
1 bottle red food coloring

Cream sugar and shortening, add eggs and beat well until fluffy. Add flour and milk; cream well. Add flavoring, salt and red food color. Blend well; pour into 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.

ICING:

1 box powdered sugar
1 stick butter
3 oz. cream cheese
3 tsp. milk
