BAKED APPLE BUTTER 
4 qts. quartered and cored apples
3 c. water
1 c. cider
5 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. cloves

Cook apples in water until soft; force through colander. Add remaining ingredients. Cook in slow oven (275 degrees) 8 hours, stirring every half hour. Seal in hot, sterilized glasses. Makes about twelve 6-ounce glasses.
