GINGERSNAPS 
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. shortening
4 tbsp. molasses
1 egg
2 cups flour
1 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix together. Roll in small balls, place 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350°F.
